Hidrock Properties Acquires Ashley Plaza Shopping Center in Goldsboro North Carolina

Nearly fully occupied, 164,000-square-foot center is anchored by Hobby Lobby, Harbor Freight Tools, Planet Fitness and Ashley HomeStore

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (July 31, 2026) — Hidrock Properties announced the acquisition of Ashley Plaza Shopping Center, a nearly 164,000-square-foot neighborhood shopping center at 201 North Berkeley Boulevard in Goldsboro, North Carolina, in July 2026.

The 99-percent-occupied property features a diverse mix of national and regional tenants, including Hobby Lobby, Harbor Freight Tools, Planet Fitness, Ashley HomeStore, Citi Trends, Chuck E. Cheese, City Gear and East Coast Wings. T-Mobile, which occupies a 3,000-square-foot outparcel at the center, recently executed a five-year lease extension through 2031.

“Ashley Plaza represents exactly the type of opportunity we are pursuing as Hidrock continues to expand its neighborhood shopping center portfolio across the Southeast and other growing markets,” said David Dayan, managing director of acquisitions at Hidrock Properties. “The property combines strong in-place cash flow, established national tenants and a location supported by durable economic drivers. Through hands-on management and direct tenant engagement, we believe we can strengthen tenant relationships, improve the center’s operating performance and unlock additional value over time.”

Built in 1984 and renovated in 2018, Ashley Plaza occupies approximately 15.5 acres along North Berkeley Boulevard, Goldsboro’s primary retail corridor. The property benefits from strong visibility at a signalized intersection traveled by approximately 23,500 vehicles per day and is located approximately one mile from U.S. Route 70.

Ashley Plaza is also located less than one mile from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, one of the region’s largest and most stable economic anchors. Goldsboro serves as a regional hub within Wayne County, supported by major employers in the military, healthcare, education and manufacturing sectors. The property is approximately 55 miles southeast of Raleigh and 45 miles from Greenville.

Hidrock plans to pursue opportunities to lease the center’s remaining available space and capture additional value as leases naturally roll to market.

The acquisition advances Hidrock’s evolution into a national owner and operator of neighborhood shopping centers. The company’s recent investments include retail properties in the Nashville, Cincinnati and Charlotte metropolitan areas, reflecting its focus on well-located centers with established tenancy, stable cash flow and opportunities for operational improvement.
